Where do all the First Season writers go?

1. Nowhere: They rest on their creative laurels, and get fat off increasing salaries. Their work suffers.
2. Nowhere: They get increasingly despondent and disillusioned and feel undervalued by the treatment they receive from TV  networks/production companies. Their work suffers.
